At the South Carolina National Guard, I provided geospatial analysis to support the Army Compatible Use Buffer (ACUB) and Readiness and Environmental Protection Integration (REPI) programs—federal initiatives that protect training capabilities by preserving land around military installations.

My GIS work identified critical buffer zones, analyzed land use and environmental constraints, and informed partnership strategies with conservation organizations. This work directly supported the acquisition of over $10 million in Department of Defense funds to protect high-priority lands adjacent to training areas. The result was a win-win: enhanced military readiness through reduced encroachment risk and long-term conservation of South Carolina’s natural resources.
