As part of the environmental team at the SC National Guard, I used GIS to support conservation planning and regulatory compliance across training sites. My work included mapping sensitive habitats, monitoring land use impacts, and helping protect threatened species. I also participated in fieldwork—including bird banding—to collect vital data on local wildlife. This hands-on approach ensured our spatial analysis was grounded in real-world conditions, helping balance military readiness with environmental stewardship.
